Sir Terry Leahy
Sir Terry Leahy was Chief Executive of Tesco PLC from 1997 until 2011 and Chairman of B&M Stores from 2014-2017.
He received a Knighthood for services to food retailing in the 2002 New Year Honours and in the same year was made a Freeman of the City of Liverpool. Voted Britain’s Most Admired Leader by Management Today from 2005 to 2010, he was also named European Businessman of the year in 2004 by Fortune Magazine.
Sir Terry is currently a part-time senior advisor to Clayton Dubilier & Rice, the US private equity firm. He invests in entrepreneurial businesses and is involved with various charities through his Foundation, which is managed by the Merseyside Communities Foundation. He is also a Trustee of the Social Mobility Foundation and The Royal Marsden Hospital and a Patron of Shakespeare North and the London School of Architecture.
Married with three children, Terry enjoys sport, reading, theatre and architecture in his spare time.
